Porous substrate for hydroponic cultivation (suitable for recirculation). It is composed of aggregate clay forming balls of between 8 and 16 mm. The internal structure is porous, absorbing and releasing water with nutrient according to the needs of the plant. It is clean, does not decompose and is free of diseases and parasites.
It has a stabilized pH between 5.5 and 6.5, which makes it an excellent support for hydroculture. It can also be mixed with other substrates. The expanded clay does not absorb water for a long time, which means that in hydroponic culture it does not have a very high safety factor in case the timer or the irrigation pump fails. Dip the expanded clay in the nutrient solution 24 hours before transplanting to stabilize the pH.
It is also used a lot to put in the bottom of the pot and thus obtain a better drainage avoiding the ponding of the pot.
The clay balls allow great aeration and perfect drainage. It contains a highly porous structure derived from expansion at high temperatures. It allows to retain 15-20% of its weight in water. Mixed with the substrates increases its porosity and provides aeration. It is also very appreciated as a decorative element placed on the surface of pots and planters. Unalterable material that is free of germs getting the natural suppression of weeds. Clay balls are clean, light, decorative and easily manageable.
Approved by the Royal Horticultural Society, R.H.P. unlike many other brands. It has a high volume of pores with a high air content, which results in strong roots with an optimal grip.
It is an ideal base for optimal growth and flowering. It produces the highest performance in combination with AQUA VEGA and AQUA FLORES. Change from AQUA VEGA to AQUA FLORES when the first flower buds appear (usually after a period of 1 to 3 weeks with 12 hours of light per day).
