In tall crops such as cucumber, tomato and pepper, traps should be placed just above the plant and raised as the crop grows. When used against leaf miners, place traps horizontally in aisles on a clean surface.
In crops with little cover, traps should be supported by poles or wire supports at a maximum of 30 cm above the crop, to avoid excessive movement by wind. Traps should be placed in areas with the highest risk of attack, i.e. doors, edges of the canopy and side ventilation openings.
If significant numbers of flying pests are caught, traps should be removed. This is particularly the case when the traps are hung between the plants (rather than above them).
