Sakadama is an attapulgite type clay, a natural mineral of very low density, porous and with a large specific surface area, which undergoes a heat treatment in an oven at 600º. This manufacturing process makes it have excellent water and nutrient absorption properties, in addition to obtaining a substrate whose particles remain hard for longer, which allows the periods between transplants to be lengthened. These characteristics make this material ideal for bonsai cultivation with great cation exchange capacity, water retention and porosity.

• Absence of Dust: In the manufacturing process of Sakadama, additional screening is carried out, guaranteeing the granulometry of the product and the absence of the finest particles. Dust in bonsai cultivation is an unwanted material, since it blocks the drainage of the substrate, and promotes unwanted root asphyxiation and the consequent rotting of the roots.
