The ease of use and low cost of this Adwa AD14 pH / ORP meter makes it possible to measure ORP / pH in situ, both by technical and non-technical personnel, with total precision and economically in a wide variety of applications.
The AD14 includes features such as:
The Adwa AD14 pH / ORP tester is supplied complete with protective cap, batteries, calibration solution pH 4, pH 7 and instructions.
The oxidation / reduction of a solution is its ability to absorb or emit its diluted salts. This parameter is particularly important in the treatment of water and in spas or swimming pools, especially to check the disinfecting power of chlorine. The more positive the measurement values, the better the water regeneration process will be. Redox voltage is a method to measure the quality of water, and ideal for measuring the chlorine of a solution.
The Redox voltage is expressed in mV and informs us about the oxidation or reduction potential:
Industrial wastewater
The ORP measurement is used above all in the detoxification of industrial waters. The detoxification takes place with the reduction of the chromate or with the oxidation of the cyanide.
Swimming pools
The ORP measurement is also used to determine the sterilization capacity of the water. The time it takes the water in the pool to eliminate certain bacteria will depend on the ORP value. The necessary value is approximately 700 mV.
Aquariums
In a freshwater aquarium, from 250 mV are considered good values. In salt water (eg sea water) it should be between 350 and 400 mV. The processes of oxidation and reduction in the aquarium take place within living cells. In aquariums it is plants, bacteria and animals that change matter.
