Like the vast majority of Habaneros, its traditional consumption lies in Yucatan, but its origin dates back to the Caribbean Islands. In areas like this or the Caribbean, where it originates from, they are perennial plants and can reach two meters, in contrast, in colder areas like the European continent they are planted as annuals.
Its most widespread uses are marinating or preparing all kinds of sauces, although you can make all kinds of salads and side dishes with it.
The Habanero Orange is the first-born variety of the different colors of this, such as the Habanero Chocolate or the Habanero Red, since they are mutations that have been found during the 9,000 years that it has been cultivated.
One of the reasons for its great extension is its easy cultivation and great production. Being annual plants, at least in our area, they will not grow more than 90 cm. They should be germinated indoors at the end of February/beginning of March, as they will not withstand low temperatures.
It is not recommended to remove the plants before the temperature does not drop below 12-15 degrees Celsius. The most important thing to know when growing these hot peppers is that they develop well in humid areas, so abundant watering is preferable.
